Concept behind this piece was me over hearing an older African American man in a conversation on the phone say " This, That and a third" and it dawned on me how we as AA use the English language to communicate to each other by code in a sense.

There's a lot of reasons to explain this type of slang or code language but for now I wanted to explain a little bit about my reasons for making this painting, which just an homage to our different slang and code language we use on a daily basis.

Even if you look at the word slang it basically "S" for secret and "lang" is for language..." secret language".
