This painting was inspired by the famous Basquiat painting called "SUPER HEROES" but I took a differnt spin on it. The black man is told to be quiet and docile while all other men are encouraged to be men. We are punished in the eyes of the world when we begin to think for ourselves. We are taught to be other than ourselves and to be childlike in our behavior, and this is going to stop.

I used batman and robin as a symbol of masked heroes who have to hide behind a false image of themselves. A MASK-ULINITY of sorts. Hiding behind basketball heroes or Rap heroes.

Kyrie and Kanye are no where near black leaders ( like Malcolm or Ali), but they are the leading black men who are being used as an example of "punishment" when you speak on issues that you may see as a problem.
